Here you should enter the total weight of the goods that need to be lashed down in kilogrammes. Check the papers to find this value, or if you are unsure, simply weigh the goods.
The angle should ideally be steep. The closer the strap angle is to 90°, the better it will hold the load in place. This offers the advantage that, depending on the circumstances, fewer straps may be needed to lash down the load.
Example:
Bad case: angle less than 35°
Ideal case: 90° angle
Tip:
If you do not have a protractor to hand, you can calculate the angle. . To calculate the angle, please enter the corresponding values for Line A and Line B below. (For the calculation, the goods need to be stackable and therefore create a right angle.)
Line A:
Enter the length of the green line here. This corresponds to the height of the load. You should measure from the floor to the highest point of the load.
Line B:
Enter the length of the blue line here. This is the distance between the point where the strap is attached and the load.
Use the table below to determine your coefficient of friction. The friction resistance depends on the surfaces (how easily the load shifts). The coefficient of (sliding) friction is the physical measurement of the forces between two solid contacting bodies.
Example: Bad case: greasy, metal on metal = 0.05 Ideal case: dry, concrete on wood = 0.60
Tip: A non-slip mat will increase the coefficient of friction and improve the stability of your cargo.
Sample calculations for loads not at risk of tipping over with assumed coefficient (k) of approx. 1.5. The pre-tension force STF is 50% on the opposite side of the lashing strap. All specified values without liability. All the on-site influences and circumstances must be taken into account for every application.

Tension force:
This value specifies the standard tension force (STF) that needs to be achieved. In mamutec AG products, these values are 100 daN, 225 daN, 300 daN, 500 daN and 750 daN. The best way to determine this value is to check the blue (or brown) label as shown here:
